A new landscape of possibilities for research and education in the humanities. [17dec10]
The Wellcome Trust works to ensure that the outputs of the research it funds, including research data and published papers, are managed and used in ways that maximise public benefit. We consider that the benefits gained from research data will be maximised when they are made widely available to the research community as soon as feasible, so that they can be verified, built upon and used to advance knowledge. This talk will discuss the Trust’s policy on the management and sharing of data, and current initiatives to increase data sharing among our researchers. It will also provide an update on the Trust’s work to encourage open access, and the challenges faced in achieving this goal.
